about

Various Artists, 'Pluralistic Reflex'

Release date: 8 May 2020

This compilation sets out to provide an aural antidote to the unilateral thinking dominating much of Western politics. The tracks assembled here chart a deliberately international journey, from the UK to Uganda and back, stopping off in Greece, Lithuania, Poland, the US and more.
We don't pretend that this album will change attitudes. But it is part of a growing current of local action with a global perspective. That's why Byrd Out is giving a quarter of its revenues from the release to Waltham Forest Migrant Action*.

Tracklist:
Break Mode - That Way (US)
Veslemes - Attica Leisure Funk (Greece)
D'Vo - Mbalax (UK)
Monrhea - Synth_esized (Kenya)
Nightwarrior - Magic Of Uncertainty (Poland)
Bit Cloudy - Felt Tip Phaser (UK)
Spooky-J - Bugandachug (Uganda/UK)
Elliot Galvin - While Suplpies Last (UK)
Ponty Mython - Trust Me On That (Lithuania/Russia)
CHUY CHUY - Bloodsport (Russia)
Sarmacja - Duch (Bit Cloudy Remix) (Poland)
Wav Fuzz - You Too (US)

Hibotep - Maraakame (Uganda/Somalia)

*Waltham Forest Migrant Action (WFMA) is a small organisation that makes a big difference to migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Waltham Forest. Through its support centre, which provides free legal, housing and welfare advice and a warm welcome, as well as its campaigning, community work, and events, WFMA proudly stands in support of all migrant members of our community, irrespective of immigration status. WFMA believes no human being is ‘illegal’ and does not subscribe to the narrative of deserving vs. undeserving migrants.
